COACHES' Information
As a soccer coach, your principal interest is in developing your players at practice and guiding them during games. We agree that that is your first priority. However, as a Miami Strike Force coach, you also have certain other responsibilities: to the club and its volunteers; to your fellow coaches; to Miami-Dade County Parks who provide us our facilities; and, to the various governing bodies (FYSA, AYSO, Super-Y League, US Club, SFUYSA, FLUGSA, and DYSA) who sanction our activities. While these other responsibilities may not be your first priority, they must not be ignored.
Some MSF Coaches are currently volunteers and are required to have a minimum of an “E” license. A coach must apply for a MSF Coaching position each year. The Director of Coaching selects the Coaches. Qualities that MSF Coaches are selected for include; knowledge of the game, ability to relate to and motivate players, willingness to commit the necessary time and energy to running a competitive team, willingness to learn and improve, willingness to follow and comply with the philosophy of the MSF Program and Director of Coaching. A winning record is not always the best indication of a good coach. More importantly is how well the coach is able to develop the players. Coaching duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Management of individual team.
- Support the decisions made by the MSF Committee.
- Attend mandatory MSF Coaches meetings

- Make sure that players arrive at least (45) forty five minutes before game time.
- The use of cell phones or talking to parents during the practice time is prohibited.
- Do not allow to practice any player that does not have the proper practice uniform.

- Participates in team tryouts.
- Love soccer and working with children.
- Players selected during club tryouts can not be cut from the team during the season unless for disciplinary reasons.
In order to avoid conflicts in interest and to maintain loyalty and integrity to the MSF Program, a MSF Coach will not be allowed to be affiliated in any form or manner with any other Club without approval of the MSF Committee.
A mandatory MSF coaches meeting is held once a month. These meetings are designed to keep the coaches informed of current issues affecting the MSF Program and to provide opportunities to bring in speakers and topics to keep our coaches up to date on various soccer issues. These meetings are to be for coaches only.
Trainers who work with other clubs will not be allowed to use our facilities or to train our teams or individual players without the express approval of the Director of Coaching and Training.
